WPS PDF to Word can do literally what its name suggests. Yet, besides Word (DOCX) documents, it supports converting PDFs to other formats, like Excel (XLSX) and PowerPoint (PPTX). What is more, it also allows such simple editing operations as splitting and merging.
The program is very easy to use. It has a tabbed interface, which allows going straight to the desired conversion or editing feature. Besides, it supports dragging and dropping the source files as a means to import them.
When converting, it is excellent that you can process batches of documents, which saves a lot of your time. Likewise, you can set the page range of each document you want to convert. Additionally, you can decide what to keep from the original file, including layout, format and content.
Fortunately, it supports two ways to split the source document. For instance, you can create a new document every a given number of pages or set specific break pages. As to merging various PDF, the tool lets you choose the desired page range from each of the files.
When tried, the tool worked perfectly without distorting the original contents, even when there are tables and text columns. However, it is a shame that it does not use OCR to make a scanned document editable. It is also bad that it does not give any feedback about the progress of the conversion.
In conclusion, WPS PDF to Word solves the problem of accessing the contents of a PDF by converting it to other popular formats. Although the product can be used at no cost, its free license is severely crippled in terms of maximum of pages to convert. Moreover, it does not let you use page ranges. To avoid such limitations, you should purchase its Premium license. Yet, it is my duty to tell you that modern versions of Word can import PDF documents quite accurately without needing third-party software.
